Saturday Night Live has been a staple of NBC’s weekend lineup since 1975 and has produced some of the biggest names in comedy, such as Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, and Eddie Murphy. Now, the story about how the show got started is set to hit the big screen.

Directed by Jason Reitman, Saturday Night (the show’s name in its first three seasons), the movie also stars Dylan O’Brien, Lamorne Morris, Ella Hunt, Willem Dafoe, and J.K. Simmons.

The trailer shows all the things that went wrong before the first episode and how little faith the executives had in the show. As you all know, it became one of the biggest shows in America, but it’s going to be great to see how it all started.

Saturday Night hits theatres on October 10.
