For the 2025 edition of SummerSlam, WWE has decided to make the summer’s biggest party, that’s right, it gets two nights just like WrestleMania.
Invading the home of the New York Giants, MetLife Stadium, the two-night extravaganza will feature Cardi B as the special guest host. There are some good matches on the card, such as John Cena defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes.
Back at Wrestlemania 41, Cena defeated Rhodes for his 17th Championship reign. In the lead-up to this, many people believe that Rhodes may even turn heel and win the title. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Also on the card, CM Punk gets the chance to win the World Heavyweight Championship when he meets Gunther. Punk was unsuccessful in defeating John Cena at Night of Champions, so this is sort of a redemption for him. Since returning to the WWE in 2023, Punk is yet to win a title.
Gunther has been nothing short of a company man for the WWE since moving to the main roster. He dropped the Intercontinental Championship to the most popular star at the time, Sami Zayn. He did the same thing this year when he dropped the World Heavyweight Championship. He later won the title back.
